“There is a better life, but it is more expensive,” goes the popular saying. In the automotive universe, this “better life” has practically no limits. The overcoming of man and the evolution of machines took on a dizzying dynamic: the models are renewed and improved faster and faster, the versions are multiplying, and the technological race gives off surprising results. Today elite sports cars are already on the threshold of 1,000 horses, the premium ones do not lower than 600 hp, and the electric ones are practically matched with those of traditional engines. High performance is not only exclusive to sports cars, but it is also the heritage of sedans and even SUVs. Of course, all progress is translated into costs and prices, but in other parts of the world they are still within reach of the clientele they are intended for.
In these latitudes, with an automotive market going through one of the worst years in its history, and a local currency that is weaker and weaker against the dollar and the euro, the arrival of the most radical cars that appear in Europe and the United States began to become utopian. Although not quite: There is still a market for the entry of some fantastic zero kilometers, which not even the exchange market seems to stop.
The recent landing in Ezeiza of the Lamborghini Evo Spyder, a supercar of 300 thousand dollars, although it seems extraordinary it is not an isolated event. There are several other dream models that entered the country in recent months, crisis through, and surely this saga will have new chapters. Is there an audience here for those cars? Yes, they are present in the market for a reason. Some are brought on request, under the management of local terminals, as in the case of Mercedes Benz or Audi; others respond to the mediation of importers. In fact, Maserati has an official representative in Argentina and the Ferrari, which up to here were brought by an importer, from the end of the year they will have an official dealer of the brand.
The elite available in Argentina includes the last super cars on the planet, among them the most rabid beasts of the emblematic brands of the premium segment. Volumes and availability, of course, are scarce. The sales operations of these cars are not carried out in a conventional way, but often respond to specific requests from customers or actions related to the image of the brand. The prices, then, are a reference and then vary according to the negotiation. And that detail is hardly known.
For those who are not conditioned by the stocks, this is the offer of the most expensive cars in Argentina:
The Ferrari 488 Pista is equipped, no less, with the most powerful V8 engine in the history of the House of Maranello and, in addition, it is a sports car on which the brand transferred the highest technological volume from its experience in Formula 1. It develops 720 horses at 8,000 rpm, therefore it offers the best specific power in its category at 185 hp / liter.
This 488 Pista is the fourth street Ferrari with more than 700 hp– Follow the path of other emblems like the F12 Berlinetta, LaFerrari and 812 Superfast. Its name says it all: it was conceived with a more radical DNA than other series models of the firm. And it shows its performance: it reaches 0 to 100 km / h in 2.85 seconds and can exceed 340 km / h of maximum speed. To stop from 200 km / h to 0, according to reports, you only need 116 meters. A beast.
Among other models, in recent years some 488 GTB. That car was in full force until 2019, when it was replaced by the Ferrari F8 Tributo. The 488 GTB succeeded, for its part, the 458 Italia, and meant the entry to turbocharged V8s for the Italian house. For being a less radical model than the 488 Pista (with 50 less CV), its value oscillates the million dollars.
According to the Dealers Association (ACARA), last year 6 Ferrari, 11 Maserati and 56 Porsche were patented. In the case of Italian brands, the Maserati representative is Modena Auto, which also imports other luxury cars, while since the end of the year Prancing horse will have an official dealer in Argentina, Centro Milano, currently sold by Alfa Romeo.
The Huracán Evo Spyder is one of the latest creations of the Bologna house. It was presented in May, in the midst of the European pandemic, and it marked the first launch of the world industry under the new virtual format. In addition to its impressive aesthetics and aerodynamics, the best, as in all Lambo, is under the hood: a 5.2-liter V10 engine and 640 horsepower capable of originating the best sounds that can come from an exhaust.
According to Customs records, the Lamborghini entered Argentina in the name of Guillermo Enzo Chetta, a businessman and car collector who has a Honda dealership in San Isidro. The initial cost of the luxurious Huracán Evo Spyder is $ 300,000. But the total value added the taxes that, it is speculated, must have paid, can be around a million dollars.
