Must read

Samsung presented its new mobile, the Galaxy S21, compatible with 5G that comes in three versions: S21, S21 + and S21 Ultra, which integrate 6.2 ″, 6.7 ″ and 6.8 ″ screens respectively.

The display technology is Dynamic AMOLED 2X Infinity-O with adaptive refresh rate of 120Hz. This means that the update rate is automatically adjusted according to the use that the user is using.

Additionally, to help reduce eye fatigue, the new Eye Comfort Shield automatically adjusts the blue light based on the time of day, the content being viewed, and the time the wearer usually goes to sleep.

Compared to the Galaxy S20, the S21 Ultra 5G offers a 25% brighter image with a maximum brightness of 1500nits, which is the largest on a Galaxy phone.

The camera

The Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra integrates four lenses in its rear camera

The Galaxy S21 Ultra has a quad rear camera (ultra-wide, wide and dual telephoto lenses) that features a professional 108MP sensor, from which you can capture 12-bit HDR photos with 64 times brighter color data and a three times wider dynamic range.

For the first time on a Galaxy device, it is possible to shoot in 4K at 60fps on all lenses, including the four front and rear, so that you can switch to a different perspective with the same quality. Furthermore, with the 12-bit RAW file option, the user will be able to edit all the details of their photos.

The Galaxy S21 Ultra features a 100x Ultra Zoom that works with Samsung’s first Dual telephoto lens system: one 3x optical and one 10x optical. Both are equipped with Dual Pixel (2PD) AF, to capture sharp shots even at a great distance.

The improved Night Brightness sensor on the Galaxy S21 Ultra enables better pictures to be taken in low-light situations. Thus, thanks to the optimized Night Mode, noise reduction and 12 MP Nona-binning technology, good shots can be taken even in a room with very little light or in a night landscape.

Samsung Galaxy S21 Ultra rear camera details: a 12MP ultra-wide lens Dual Pixel AF, FOV 120 °, F2.2, 1.4µm; a 108MP wide angle Phase Detection AF, FOV 83 °, OIS, F1.8, 0.8µm; a 1: 10MP telephoto Dual Pixel AF, 3x optical, 35 ° FOV, OIS, F2.4, 1.22µm and a telephoto 2: 10MP Dual Pixel AF, 10x optical, 10 ° FOV, OIS, F4.9, 1.22µm

For its part, the front camera is 40 MP, with Phase Detection AF, FOV 80 °, F2.2, 0.7 µm

S21 and S 21+ models have three lenses on the rear camera: an ultra wide 12MP FF, FOV 120 °, F2.2, 1.4µm; a 12MP Dual Pixel AF wide angle, FOV 79 °, OIS, F1.8, 1.8µm and a 64MP Phase Detection AF telephoto. It offers 30 X zoom. The front camera, meanwhile, is 10MP Dual Pixel AF, FOV 80 °, F2.2, 1.22µm

On the other hand, all three models offer software enhancements such as the optimized Snap 8K feature that allows you to capture sharp images from 8K video recordings, and obtain still shots each time you press to record. Even in very dynamic situations, the material will be seen smoothly thanks to the stabilizer (Super Steady), with 60 fps improved.

Director Mode

Further, Director Mode is added that allows to see, change and select the best shot so that the user can capture clips from different perspectives according to the narrative he wants to adopt. So, for example, with the Vlogger View, you can record videos with the front and rear cameras at the same time to capture reactions in real time.

On the other hand, the Live Thumbnails feature allows you to preview or change the angle of the shot, zoom, or enlarge by simply sliding your finger on the desired option.

The S21 line has also optimized the Single Shot feature, allowing you to capture a variety of still and video formats with a single touch. Now professional-style video settings such as Highlight Video have been added, a clip that is made automatically with the most outstanding shots; and the so-called Dynamic Slow-Mo that generates a slow-motion version of a fragment of the shot.

There are also improvements to Portrait Mode, which now performs improved 3D analysis to more accurately separate the subject from the background. It also includes options for achieving a virtual studio lighting effect and AI background effects to make sure your subject stays out of the frame.

Regarding the possibility of taking shots from a distance, it should be noted that the new Zoom Lock minimizes the effect of shaking hands when shooting to obtain clearer images with a 30x zoom, in the case of the S21 and S21 +; since in the S21 Ultra the zoom is up to 100x.

Plus, enhanced processing power enables bright images, even in the dark, to capture sunsets with greater precision and realism.

S-Pen compatibility

The Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is compatible with the S Pen, technology from Wacom. This is the first time that an S series team has offered this option. The pencil does not come with the cell phone. It has to be bought separately or use a SPen that you have from a Galaxy Note or Tab.

Thanks to the ultra-wideband (UWB) capabilities built into the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G and S21 + 5G, the Galaxy S21 5G device can be used to automatically unlock UWB-enabled car doors without using the keys. Additionally, the S21 Ultra and the and S21 + can use the AR finder to send virtual messages that let other Galaxy users know that you need help searching for a lost item.

On the other hand, with SmartThings in Android Auto, the new Galaxy S21 series can also be used to control smart devices in the home, even the car. By connecting the S21 to the Android Auto compatible car, the user can turn on the lights or adjust the temperature of the home thermostat, from the vehicle.

In turn, the Galaxy S21 Ultra 5G is one of the first smartphones to support Wi-Fi 6E. In turn, the three models integrate non-autonomous 5G (NSA), Standalone (SA), Sub6 / mmWave.

Privacy enhancements

The Galaxy S21 also introduces a new tool to protect and monitor privacy, with which the user can safely remove location metadata from photos before sharing. With the new Private Share feature on the Galaxy S21, you can also control who has access to the content that is sent, and how long it will be available.

Locate lost items

Samsung also launched a new device to track lost items. It is the new Samsung Galaxy SmartTag Bluetooth locator. Simply attach the SmartTag to keys, purse or whatever you need to locate quickly. It can then be tracked using the SmartThings Find feature. This tool also allows you to locate compatible Galaxy devices, even when they are not connected. Smart Things Find is able to track the object and show the user where it is.

Other technical specifications:

All three models have a 5-nanometer 64-bit octacore processor. The Ultra model offers 12GB of RAM with 256GB of internal storage; while the S21 and S21 + have 8GB RAM with 128GB internal storage. The battery of these two teams is 4,000 and 4,800 mAH respectively while the Ultra edition has a 5,000 mAh battery.

Headphones and charger are not included in the box.

The new Galaxy Bud Pro headphones

Samsung introduced its next-generation headphones: the Galaxy Buds Pro, featuring immersive sound, superior call quality, intelligent ANC (Active Noise Cancellation), and improved connectivity, accompanied by a more compact and ergonomic design.

The Buds Pro offer a fuller sound, with an 11-millimeter woofer for deeper bass and a 6.5-millimeter tweeter for higher quality treble. In turn, with the Ambient Sound function, the user can choose to amplify nearby sounds by more than 20 decibels, which means that they can adjust and customize them according to their needs.

Both ANC and Ambient Sound work together automatically, adapting to the environment to optimize the audio experience. Galaxy Buds Pro recognize when the user is speaking and can automatically switch between canceling nearby sounds or amplifying them. It also lowers the volume of music when speaking, even if with the Ambient Sound feature on or you have ANC turned off.

The Galaxy Buds Pro allows you to separate the voice from unwanted sounds thanks to its three microphones and a Voice Capture Unit, which guarantees that the user is heard as clearly as possible. One of the external microphones also has a high signal-to-noise ratio rating, further eliminating background noises.

Additionally, Samsung integrated its new Wind Shield technology into the Buds Pro, with a specially designed chamber with mesh to filter out wind interference. This is to make phone calls clearer, even in a windy environment.

The headphones come in three colors: Phantom Violet (purple), Phantom Black (black) and Phantom Silver (silver)
